ブランド名『Greusaiche（グレーサイッチ）』はゲール語で靴屋・靴修理屋の意味。
1800年後期から1900年前期のヴィンテージシューズに見られるあの足首のくびれやウィズ、細いシャフトなど愛してやまない靴修理店「THE GARAGE」 店主の柴谷雅一氏がそれを可能な限り再現したいと思いスタートしたブランド。
靴修理人として何十年も、ハイブランドの靴から古靴までメンズ、レディース を問わず修理してきた柴谷氏だが、古い靴はどうしても耐久性が弱いので、実際に履くことができても短命で自分のサイズに出会うことも稀だと言う。
そこで、柴谷氏が20年来の友人である木型職人に実際に履けるヴィンテージシューズを作りたいと相談。彼はLASTMAKERで20年以上にわたり木型を作り続けている職人である。くびれのラインの美しさを再現するためには、ベースとなる木型やパターンがとても重要になってくる。
木型とパターンを木型職人のK氏が手がけ、アッパー部分はK氏が選りすぐった浅草の職人が製作。底周りは、柴谷氏自らミシンをかけ磨き仕上げる。何度も試作を繰り返した。
マッケイ製法で仕上げ、素材はヴィンテージブーツの雰囲気に近いヤギ革を使用。 ユニセックスでありながらサイズアップしたときにゴツくならず細さとくびれを保つように拘った仕上がり。
そして、ファーストモデルのサイドゴアブーツが完成。
モデル名は『 op57 』。柴谷氏が好きなショパンの曲名である。
今後はボタンブーツや短靴などもリリース予定。
The brand name “Greusaiche” means shoe shop or shoe repair shop in Gaelic.
The brand was started by Masakazu Shibaya the owner of “The Garage,” a shoe repair store that loves the ankle neck, the whiz, and the narrow shafts found in vintage shoes from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
Mr. Shibaya has been a shoe repairman for decades, repairing both men’s and women’s shoes, from high brand shoes to old shoes, but he says that old shoes are inevitably less durable, and even if you can actually wear them, they are short-lived and rarely come in your size.
Therefore, Mr. Shibaya asked his friend of 20 years, a wood form maker, if he could make vintage shoes that could actually be worn. He has been making wooden patterns at LASTMAKER for over 20 years. In order to reproduce the beauty of the neckline, the base wooden form and pattern are very important.
Mr. K, a wood pattern craftsman, creates the wooden pattern and pattern, and the upper part is made by Asakusa craftsmen selected by Mr. K. The sole is made by Mr. Shibaya, a craftsman who has been making wooden patterns for over 20 years. Mr. Shibaya himself sews and polishes the sole. He repeated prototypes many times.
The shoes are made by the Mackay method, and the material used is kid leather, which is similar to the atmosphere of vintage boots. The unisex design is designed to be slim and narrow without being heavy when sized up.
The first model of side gore boots was completed.
The model name is “op57. The name of the model is “op57,” the name of Mr. Shibatani’s favorite Chopin piece.
In the future, button boots and shorts will also be released.
